East Cheshire Construction / Joinery were fantastic from start to finish and the breadth of skills they offered was perfect to complete the job to the highest possible standard.
When Rob and Chris arrived to scope the project, they were presented with a design I had drawn on a post it note (no dimensions), which was sketchy to say the least. They spent time understanding what I envisaged the summer house to look like and a few Pinterest pictures to assist and really interpreting the intended use, etc. This conversation coupled with their expert advice around dimensions, room sizes, and locations of electrics, water, waste etc. were the first foundations to what we have today.
This was all discussed and planned out to replace where four massive Rhododendron bushes were situated along with several low hanging branches from a large oak tree. I though this may present a problem, but Rob and Chris said part of their work would be to remove all of these and ensure the footings were fit for what we wanted to build, taking into consideration boundary lines and large tree roots that could cause a movement in the future ensuring what we wanted to build was built to last. Once this was clear they pegged out the footings to show the exact dimensions and discussed any tweaks before the foundation work begun.
Throughout the project they were professional, prepared and very tidy. The work they set out to do was completed efficiently and to the highest standard – there was a lot of project management involved, which included co-ordinating deliveries (this included a trip in their van and trailer a mile down the road to collect a delivery as the delivery driver couldn’t navigate the narrow lane to deliver to the house) and booking other contractors (electricians) in advance to arrive at the relevant time they would be required. All in all, extremely good planning from them as well as extremely good work.
To say our dream summer house was coming true was an understatement, it was already amazing and then after further conversations the decision was made to add an outdoor decked undercover area where a hot tub was to be located and also a bar. Further advice from Rob and Chris was greatly appreciate about ideas on how to gain natural light whilst remaining undercover along with additional features including a bike shed, with purpose-built hangers and hand-crafted doors. With them at our disposal the opportunities for this project to evolve were endless. Rob and Chris’s understanding of what our intentions were with the summer house was so helpful and their advice and support around many things was welcome. They are still helping us to make decisions about things like flooring would be best suited as we had not considered the water damage that may occur with having a hot tub outside etc.
I have included a few pictures of the summer house; however, completion work has been delayed due to an eight-week delivery time on the hot tub. Again, this was no issue for Rob and Chris as they have made a note of the delivery date and will be arriving on site as soon as this arrives to complete the job.
I would highly recommend East Cheshire Construction / Joinery for any job as their experience and skills are so diverse, allowing them to offer a complete solution to any project and will definitely be using them in the future.
